Sunburned and Tired

I am tired like this guy!!!!

And sunburned like this girl!!!!

That's how my first day went. I got up at 6:45am so I could be at work at 8:15am. I was on time but was not as ready as I would of liked to be. Breakfast was a chewy granola bar in the truck on the way. I forgot to gel Tyler's hair and forgot my jewelry.

The job was easy. Being a crossing guard is honestly a no brainier in my opinion. Sign up....enter the cross walk....stay there until the kids are all the way across and return to the original piece of cement that you started from. Sign up.....enter the cross walk.... blah, blah, blah. The weather was nice and breezy this morning and everyone waved as they passed by. Thanks to Traci I knew to wear my "crossing guard" undies. I was told that if you are wearing the wrong undies they will roll down your fat roll each time you raise your arm to hold the sign up. This happened to Traci when it was her turn with the sign a few weeks ago. I am happy to report that the undies stayed in place. After crossing guard duty I went to a second grade class to help for a couple hours. I will spend 2 hours each morning in a different 2ND grade class helping out.

After that I meet up with the other aide and we were on our way to the lunch room. I wasn't to sure about what was going to happen there because during the interview nothing was mentioned about spending anytime in the lunch room. We walked to the back of the room and she handed me a pair of disposable gloves. I looked at her and in my head I thought if she gives mew a hairnet I am sooooooo out of here!!!!!!!! I asked what are the gloves for? She said the kindergartners always need help opening things in their lunches so we wear the gloves. OK I thought. I was still in disbelief. Was I also going to be a lunch lady???? Not interested in that!!! Next she told me to grab a trash can and push it around with me. She said the kids can put their trash in it and that I could help them out with removing trash from their tables. I didn't know what to say. I was a lunch lady. All I needed now was a mole and a smoke hanging out of my mouth. I shut my mouth and pushed my can around the room taking trash from the kids. Finally their lunch was over. I went to the other aide and asked how long we would be in there. She said only for the kindergarten lunch time. I said "good because it stinks in here and this is gross" she looked at me and I am sure she wondered where I saddled the horse I rode in on this morning. Most things don't gross me out. The smells and all the gross food in the lunch room almost made me vomit. We walked the kindergartner's to the playground and it was time for our 15 minute break.
After break it was out to the playground for recess duty. It was so easy I couldn't believe it. The only problem was that I was so bored out of my mind i thought I was going to go crazy. Over 2 hours on the basketball courts!!!!! The kids were herded in and out by grade every 15 minutes until finally it was 2:15pm and I was done. I picked Tyler up from school and was back for afternoon crossing guard duty. He goes with me in the afternoons. Its the only way things could work out. Afternoons same as mornings. Sign up.....enter cross walk.....blah, blah, blah.
Laundry is done off to fold and then to bed. Life is hard now. Life sucks.
Goodnight
