A Great Week

Our first week off for summer break was good. I spent a lot of time with Tyler doing mommy and Ty Ty stuff together. Now I know he is 8 and I shouldn't refer to myself as mommy or him as Ty Ty but I still see him as my baby. On the other hand I see that he is growing up QUICK. This may be the last summer that he has any interest in hanging out with me. I think working the past 9 weeks at the school was a good thing for me. It gave me a clearer picture of kids today. I saw just how needy and starved for attention many of them are. It makes you wonder what kind of homes these kids come from. I am not saying that my baby is in anyway, shape or form neglected or starved for attention but I did realize the types of kids he encounters on a daily basis.

I sometimes feel bad for him because we didn't give him a sibling. I honestly know that I just didn't have it in me to be a mommy to more than one. Its a lot of hard work. I want him to have such a different life growing up than I had. So far he has turned out to be a pretty good kid. He is somewhat of a know it all and he gets a little mouthy at times but overall I am pleased with how he has turned out and the decisions that he makes. Todd and I are both very strong willed, opinionated and have very big mouths. We see ourselves in him almost on a daily basis.

So back to the title of the blog. As I said in a previous blog Monday and Tuesday were spent laying around and seeing free movies. On Wednesday we stayed inside watched cartoons and played. We built pirate islands and pirate ships with his Imaginex sets. We stayed in pj's all day I didn't even go down stairs until 4:30. We went out to dinner with friends that night. It was fun. There were 20 of us. We LOVE Buffalo Wild Wings on Wednesdays. They have $1.99 kids meals that includes a drink. From 3-7 all appetizers are 1/2 price. They have the best appetizers. They also have their drumsticks on sale for fifty cents. You can have them flavored with any of their wing sauces. We spend less than $15 for dinner for all 3 of us that includes tax and tip. After dinner we went to Sonic for their 99c shakes. YUM! Then off to Blockbuster to renew our movie rental pass for the summer.

On Thursday we got ready and went to Papa Johns and picked up a pizza for Tyler for lunch. I got a gazillion coupons for free pizzas from there. The coupon is perfect for Tyler because it's for a small pizza. We took our pizza and went through Sonic and got 2 free cherry lime aids. Next we went to Chick a fila so I could get a chicken sandwich. I had another coupon that I used and got a free milkshake. The total for lunch that day was $3.12. We took our mostly free food buffet and sat in front of Barnes & Nobles and ate lunch outside. Thankfully it was not to hot of a day. After lunch we spent a few hours inside the bookstore. We love to go there. I read travel books for our up coming trip to Florida and Tyler found a few new books to read this summer. The books are called Diary of a Wimpy kid. He loves to read them. We left the book store and went to Ross. I hate Ross!! It used to be my favorite store and then it turned ghetto. I thought its so close lets just take a peek. I found Tyler 4 new pairs of shorts and a new backpack to put back for school. Only spent $52 bucks. I had plans for Thursday night so Todd and Tyler vegged out and watched The Golden Compass.

Friday we got up, got ready and headed to the mall. I was so sad to learn that the Disney Store had went out of business. I have not been since I started working. See what happens when I am working and cant go out and spend money....things go out of business. I actually saw a store that was closed and had a sign in the window that said Closed for lunch break, be back in 30 minutes. What a sign of the economy. Stores are closing down and employers cant afford to pay 2 employees to work at the same time. Anyways we met up with some friends and the kids played in the play area for about an hour and a half. Tyler is too big for that area but he is very cautious of the little ones so I do let him play there. He loves to play on all that stuff. Somethings you are never too big for I guess. We headed to the food court to get our grub on. At the food court we ran into Tyler's best friend and his father. This led to Karson coming over to play and then staying the night. It's 1:30 now and they are starting to get bored with each other. I guess the 24 hour marathon is almost over. I love having other kids here. It keeps Tyler from being bored. I know he gets bored with us all the time.
Lots of boring stuff, I know. That's just our life now. Before I know it it will all be over. I will go back to work and Tyler back to school.

Good for you

Need to poop? Eat these. I love them. They are such a great snack to eat dry. Loads of fiber. 20% of the daily recommended amount. I don't suggest eating half a box in one day and a bean burrito for lunch and a bean burrito for dinner......just saying!!!!

Hallelujah School's Out

Thursday was the last day of school. I am so glad it's over. I love summer, it's so fun. Whatever goes. No real plans and lots of hanging out doing whatever. I do however want to get things caught up around the house and catch up with friends.

On Friday the new movie theater opened up here in Surprise. Just in time for summer!!! No more 20 minute drive to Harkins. All week the theater has been showing free movies. That's right free movies! You know I was all over that. On Friday morning we saw Horton Hears Who and on Friday night we saw The Bucket List. FREE. On Saturday morning we saw Indiana Jones. Not free but the matinee price for the 3 of us was just $16.50. On Saturday night we saw 27 Dresses, FREE. On Sunday we saw Jumper and National Treasure FREE. On Monday we saw Fools Gold, FREE. and Today we went to the matinee and I saw Made of Honor with Traci and Tyler saw Speed Racer with Traci's kids. Not free but for the 2 of us to go it was only $11.00. After the matinee we saw Jumper again for free and tonight we are going back to see The Bucket List again for free. I highly suggest The Bucket List it is so good.

The weekend was mainly hanging out at home and going to the movies. There was so much that needed to be caught up. We did some of it but the rest will get done when it gets done. That's a hard concept for me. I love things just so in my house and I always want things CLEAN. I have had to learn to just let things be. I want to spend a lot of time with Tyler this summer. I know as he gets bigger he will want no part of me. He's already 8 and time has just flew by.

Tomorrow is another I don't know what is going on kind of day. I am thinking the mall maybe. We shall see. Next week is Todd's birthday. He will be 35! Todd never plans anything for his birthday. He says it's just a birthday and it's no big deal. I love my birthday and celebrate every year. Only 65 more days till I turn 36 and 1,525 days until I turn 40!! SCARY!!

A long hot week

Will I make it the last 4 days? I don't know. The kids are so out of control that by the end of next week I am sure they will burn the school down. They love to shove toilet paper in the hand dryers. When the next person comes and pushes the button to dry their hands the hot coils heat up the toilet paper and the hand dryer throws sparks.

This week we had a kid pop one of those ice packs that go in the kids lunches. The one he popped had blue stuff in it. He squirted it all over the boys bathroom and the bathroom door. It was so bad that a hose had to be brought it and the place had to be hosed out. It stained some places of course.

I am so fed up with it all that yesterday one of the 8th grade boys came to me and said "he hit me" I said hit him back and after you hit him go get a sharpie and draw on the walls then shove toilet paper in the hand dryer. After that throw a ball randomly at someones head then get a handful of rocks and throw them at peoples heads at hard as you can,

as you are throwing them start cussing at the top of your lungs and when your hands are empty of rocks flip a few birds. He just looked at me and said really, I can do all that. I said sure. He laughed and walked away.

Enough school talk. I went and got a pedicure today with a couple of my girlfriends. It was fun. We got matching flowers because we are dorks. I think the girls who worked on our feet actually enjoyed us. We are a fun bunch if I do say so myself. This is my actual foot. Do you like the funky tan line from my flip flops?? Yes those ate Mickey heads on my feet. I have some Disney Crocks with Mickey heads on them. When I wear them the sun goes through the openings on the top of the crocks therefore leaving little Mickey heads on the top of my feet.

I had to go buy all new makeup this weekend. I normally buy soft ivory. This weekend I bought warm honey beige. I look Hispanic. I am going to have to change my race on my license if I get any tanner.

It has been a pretty boring week. I have been wiped out from the heat and in bed around 8. I have been going to the chiropractor again for the hip thingy so by the time I get home I AM DONE!!!!!

Went to dinner Thursday night with the Vaughn-Beauchmans. We went to Buffalo Wild Wings. I love that place. On Thursdays between 5 & 7 they have 1/2 price appetizers and 50 cent boneless wings. The best part is I don't have to cook. The food rocks there.

Saturday afternoon we went to Traci's to BBQ and swim.

Todd and Tyler are at the movies with friends seeing Speed Racer. Not my kind of movie so its a boys day. Dinner tonight will be what ever you want because I need to get my rest and hydrate because next week is going to be hot as you know what and I am not looking forward to it.

Who wants to rub my feet?

This was a SUPER long week. My feet are so swollen and tired I may cut them off. First off it was hot as heck. Friday was the worst. I honestly don't think that women should get butt sweat. The kids at school are so out of control. The end is near and they no longer think the school rules apply to them. I might as well take my whistle and flush it. I could blow it all day and they act as if they never heard it. It's scary how the kids can just look you in the eye and lie. It just comes naturally to them. They don't even have to think about it, they just make it up as they go along. The girls are the worst. School looks like a strip club.

The girls shorts and skirts are so short I am afraid of what might fall out if they bend over. The shirts are getting smaller as well. Tank season. By 6th grade the girls have learned that if they cross their arms tight enough their "boobies" smash together and look bigger. To make it worse they swing around the tether ball poles. I stare in disbelief. If that were my daughter swinging on the pole I would be mortified. Lots of girl cat fights. I think they were saving it all for the end of the year. It's all that he said she said crap. WHO CARES!!!!!

This past week was teacher & staff appreciation week at school. Friday we had a catered lunch from Red Robin. That food was incredible. We eat there once in a while but I have never ordered anything but hamburgers from there. They brought wraps that were so good I could not believe it. I had a BBQ wrap. They also had chicken salad, wings, cantaloupe, bread, cookies and drinks. SCORE!!! Tuesday was also free burrito day at Chipoltle. Show your ID and get a burrito for free. SCORE!!!! Monday was muffins and fruit in the lounge. Thursday was bagels and juice brought to each teachers room. The eighth graders rolled a cart around and served the staff. SCORE!!!!

Todd started his new job Monday. The days are longer because of the commute. He has probably added an extra 30 minutes to his drive, 15 minutes each way. So far so good. He did find out that Glendale does not have casual Fridays. BUMMER!! The health insurance is also more expensive. I think he will be much happier there. That's all that matters!! Friday he went to pick up his vacation pay out. When he quit he had 305 hours of vacation saved up!!!! The government got their cut a whooping 4, 896.64 I hate the government!!!!!!!! That's life though. I am happy to now have that 4,000 credit card balance paid off and have the truck paid down. We only owe 5,000 on the truck now. We have also put enough enough money back to cover the airfare for our trip to Disney World in January.

Tyler went back to the orthodontist on Thursday. He is progressing well. He did say that we need to turn Tyler 10 more times. He still is not quite wide enough. Each turn is 1 10th of a millimeter I believe is what he said. Next month when we go back he will give us a referral to have 2 teeth pulled. They need to go to continue the progress.

Today is our neighborhood block party. It from 2-4. Who picked this time??? Could they have picked any hotter of a time? NO!! More butt sweat I guess.

Todd is at my mom's helping old Larry do the roof on her house. Todd is not the roofer type and Larry is 61. They both might die today.

Where do babies come from?

Want one of these?

Drink this!!!!

Today at school I went upstairs to fill out a incident report in the OCR room. That is the room where all the kids who are having behavior problems go. In the old days we called it ISS. My friend Traci is the OCR teacher. We were talking when one of the kids said "I know how you get a baby". Traci and I looked at each other, our eyes got big and we said "oh yeah". This kid was in the first grade so we were not sure what he might say. There were two other kids in there. One was in 4th and one in 7th. The boy again said " yeah, this is how you get a baby in you. First the man goes to the store and gets a gallon of milk. Next he gives it to the lady and she drinks it. After that she gets a baby inside her". That was about all I could take. Traci and I started to look at each other and giggle. The two other boys in the room were laughing hysterically. I said to him " who told you that"? He said his grandfather told him that. Who knew. Next the jokes started coming. Before you knew it we were telling the boys when they got married to keep the milk in the fridge. Never take it out. We then asked the boy if you drink chocolate milk do you get a chocolate baby? What about strawberry milk?
