I miss my doggie

I still think about Spanky a lot. If I let myself think for to long I still cry. He was such an awesome dog. I know in my heart we will never have another dog like him. We have tried so hard with Daisy. We love her but it's just not the same. I know Pitt bulls have such a bad reputation. After having one for 10 years I honestly believe its all in how you treat them. I will agree that there are some that turn violent. There is a lot in inbreeding with Pitts. The crazier they are the meaner and stronger they get. People who use them for fight dogs want that. Breeding dogs from the same family will have just as bad of a result as "breeding" with one of your own family members. If you had a baby with one of your siblings how do you think they would turn out!

Skin care

The past several weeks my skin has taken a beating. With the new job I am outside 3 1/2 - 4 hours a day. I am happy that all my adult acne is clearing up from spending so much time outside. But my skin is getting so dry. It has been so windy the past several weeks and with all the dust blowing around I always feel like my face is dirty. I started using my Proactive face mask again. I don't want my pores to become more clogged from all the dirt. The other Proactive products didn't seem to work for me but I must say I like the mask. You should try it!

4 days off

A 4 day weekend. It feels so good after finishing my 4th week of working. If you think I am pathetic that's OK. There was no school on Friday so the Glover's spent a much needed day at home relaxing and catching things up. Todd also had the day off.

I got a pedicure on Friday and went to the grocery store. Weekend shopping is a new thing for me and I hate it. I always went during the weekday when it was slow and everyone knew what they were doing there. I have found on the weekends people are dumb in the store. They don't have a clue where things are and they just stand in the isles staring. What are they looking at???? Pick up the can of peas and move along already! And men in the grocery store are a nightmare.

They never get a cart, they use a basket. Honestly do they think that they can fit all the things they may need in a basket? They walk around the store clueless and are on cell phones calling their wife's asking "What else did you tell me to get"?

Take a list, if you have trouble remembering things that's what lists are for. Quit bothering your wife when you are at the store. This is a time of peace and quiet for her.

Saturday we hung out at home in the morning doing more planning for our trip to Florida.
Even though it is 8 months away we are EXCITED!!!!! We spent the afternoon at the resort. As most of you know we bought time share at the Cibola Vista Resort. It is a beautiful place and they have a great pool. Because we bought during the first phase we get full use of the resort anytime. We also get a great deal on all the amenities that the resort offers. We are only about 15 to 20 minutes from the resort so it's close enough to go for a few hours just to swim. It kinda feels like you are on vacation even if you are right down the street from home .

Sunday was another day of R&R. Only left the house for about an hour to take Tyler to Mickey D's to play with a friend. I guess they don't play at this age they just "hang" and eat. Tomorrow Todd is off again. We are both getting eye exams and new glasses. WHOOPEE!!!!! Todd needs new shoes and I need to get my rings checked so we will go to the mall after the eye appointment.

Tyler's best friend

Our Border Collie Daisy will be 3 in May. She has been quite a handful. Her breed is so crazy and energetic that she cant be still for long. There are times that she is laying in the yard and just jumps up for no reason and does a few laps around the yard. She has many nick names. We call her Mama, Daisy Mama, Pretty Girl Mama, Border Collie Mama and crazy Daisy. We have had a hard time breaking her from jumping on us and others. This has been hard for Tyler. One minute he loves her and then she jumps on him and he hates her. Since January when we put Spanky to sleep they have become a little closer. He takes her on walks and they even go to the park to play. She loves to play on the playground equipment. Up the stairs she goes and through the tunnels. The neighbor kids think she is funny. I took a few pictures of Tyler and her around the house last week just hanging out. I thought they were cute so I decided to share.

The big payday HA HA HA HA HA HA

I forgot to mention that I got my first paycheck on Friday. I was for a weeks work. I only made $253.21. THAT'S RIGHT!!!!!! $253.21. What a joke. The funny part was that they didn't even take state and federal taxes out. When I called HR today they said it was because I didn't make enough money. She said my next check would be for 2 weeks and that state and federal taxes would be taken out on that check. She said if they were not I should call back. DUH. I don't think she knows what she is talking about. The government always takes their cut no matter what the size of the check. So after my retirement and my fingerprint money was subtracted I only made $253.21 for working a full week. Granted I only work between 6 1/2 and 7 hours a day but still it sucks.

Smoked Turkey & Pesto Wrap

We had this for dinner last night and it was so good that I wanted to share. This is a perfect no cook recipe. I was at Fry's shopping yesterday and decided to buy a jar of sun dried tomato pesto. I have looked at this jar several times and thought it looked good but what in the world would I do with it. As Todd was picking through the bananas I picked the jar up and noticed there was a recipe on the jar for smoked turkey & pesto wraps. It sounded so good I got the ingredients and headed home to make them.

RECIPE

1 8.5 oz jar of Bella Sun Luci brand sun dried tomato pesto, drained

(by the tomato's in the produce department in Fry's)

1 8oz block of cream cheese

1/2 pound of sliced smoked turkey

2 cups of shredded romaine lettuce

1 tomato sliced

1/4 cup thinly sliced red onions

1/4 avocado

tortillas

cracked pepper to taste

DIRECTIONS

Combine cream cheese and pesto in a small bowl; stir well. spread evenly a thin layer over the tortilla. place turkey, lettuce tomato, red onion and avocado over the bottom third of the tortilla. Make sure the ingredients don't touch the edges. Roll the tortilla up, cut in half and eat.

I didn't have an avocado so I used some guacamole I had. The brand was Wholly Molly Guacamole. It was the spicy flavor. YUMMY!!!!!!!!

Hello Clarice

I love the movie The Silence of the Lambs. Anthony Hopkins and Jodi Foster are great in it. There are so many great lines in the movie that I quote all the time. Hello Clarice is a favorite. It freaks Traci out when I say it. She hates the movie. Anyways I never thought I would have my very own Hannibal Lector in my house but when Tyler has his new face mask on he could be the son of Hannibal. This is a picture from last night.

When he got home we put the gear on and off to bed he went. We were told that the first few days would be bad. He would be very sore. So far he has not complained. He is so tough when it comes to this kind of stuff. Last summer when he had his tonsills removed I thought I was going to die. I know he was in so much pain but he was so good about it. He was more concerned about how sad I was that he was going through the pain. I LOVE THIS CHILD.

The boys are down stairs playing the Wii. They started around 8am today. I believe they are hooked. Last Friday they played for 5 hours. On Saturday they played for 8 or 9 hours. On Sunday they would rest. Give their hands and eyes a break and unplug their brain from the game system. They are hooked on Marvel Ultimate Alliance. Tyler got it in his Easter basket this year.

Tyler gets frustrated at times and then they start to fight and argue like they are 2 years old. Todd keeps telling him what he needs to do to move on (in a loud voice) and Tyler keeps yelling I am doing that. This thing is not working. Then it's on!!!! I stay out of it. I bowl on the Wii and that's it. He's got 7 games but the new one is his favorite. I am up early today not because I want to but because Tyler came in our room at 6:45am. I could not get back to sleep. I hope that I don't start waking up early every weekend now that I am working. I love my sleep. I need my sleep. Life is better for everyone if I have my sleep.

Todd and Tyler loved the concert. Tyler liked Daughtry best. Todd said he was singing every song and rocking out like he had been to a hundred concerts. The people around him got a big kick out of him. When Bon Jovi came on he didn't know all the songs so it was not as much fun for him.

Long Week

Nothing exciting has happened since my last post. I spent last weekend doing house work and laundry. On Sunday grocery shopping and a pedicure. I was to wiped out for anything else.

This past school week has been the longest week ever. I think the new schedule is catching up to me. I have been so tired this week that I cant see straight. This week was AIMS testing at school. The school schedule changed because of it. That meant more time on playground duty this week. An extra 1/2 hour per day to be exact. It's hard to be on your feet for 2 hours and 45 minutes at a time. The concrete is so hard on my feet and the field is just as hard. I am so burned that if I get any darker I am going to be picked up in one of sheriff Joe's immigration sweeps. Between the heat, sunburn, sore feet and lack of sleep I am just wiped out. I know in time I will adjust. Surprisingly I am starting to like the job better. I am getting to know the kids and they are getting to know me. The only part of my job I don't like is coming back to the school in the afternoons to do the afternoon crossing guard position. I work for 6 hours and then go home for an hour. It's so hard to go back. I also think its the hottest part of the day. I can feel my skin burning as I am out there. I am not going to do the crossing guard position next year, it's just to much time outside when it's combined with the aide position.

Todd and Tyler are at the Chris Daughtry / Bon Jovi concert tonight. Tyler has been through so much with his mouth that we gave him tickets for the concert. He loves Daughtry and Bon Jovi. It will be his first concert. He is very excited and so is dad.

I was to tired to do anything tonight so I went to my bff's house and laid on her recliner for a few hours and gossiped and complained. No plans for the weekend. I think it is best that way. I am to darn tired. Tyler went to the orthodontist today and he said Tyler's mouth didn't expand enough when we were turning in each day. This means that we have to turn it once a day again for the next 12 days. This SUCKS!!! I thought he was done with that and so did he. He is being a good sport about it. He got his face mask today. I will post pics later. It is odd looking. Like a catchers mask.

Mr. Roboto

I took a couple shots of all the head gear in Tyler's mouth. As you can see he gets his big mouth from his dad and his jacked up teeth from me. We are done turning the palate extender. Last night was the last turn. On the 11th he will start wearing his "face mask". This will of course start after he gets home from the Chris Daughtry / Bon Jovi concert with his dad. We got him tickets and gave them to him the day he had all the stuff put in his mouth. He is a big fan of both and loves to do things with his dad. This will be his first concert.

Big Undies

After my last blog Shawnie asked me "What exactly are big undies"? Granny pannies. That's right. Good old fashion undies like momma used to wear. I like the ones that are silky so my pants don't creep up my booty. I highly recommend them. Just big old pannies. Perfect for the working plus size woman!!!!!
